The largest healthcare provider in the state of Colorado is looking for a Certified Specialty Medical Coder.  This company provides services to over 500,000 people each year. They work with thirteen hospitals and seven senior living centers, among various home care centers and hospices around the state. This position will have direct responsibility for the collection, monitoring, and accuracy of clinic and patient information. This is a great opportunity to work with a really great company!

 

Job Duties:

  • Proficiency using ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practice as they relate to acute care of hospital coding and indices grouping.
  • Computer literacy with a variety of application in medicine and medical informatics
  • Reading, analyzing and interpreting professional journals, technical procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Staying in correspondence to businesses in relation to denials, coding audits, and reimbursement based on DRG’s
  • Daily usage of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes and pharmacology
  • Responsible for coding and auditing expertise and training less experienced coders to enable progression
  • Presenting information and responding to questions from groups to include, but not limited to staff, peers, administration, physicians, and customers.
  • Being apart of a knowledge-based and decision making support system
  • Helping with statistical analysis of disease and therapeutic actions

 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years experience with pathology claims, preferably with oncology and neurology
  • Must be a Certified Coder
  • Familiar with CPT and ICD-0 codes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Excellent people skills

 

The compensation for this position is $20 an hour!
