Inside Sales Assistant

Lakeshore is currently recruiting for an Inside Sales Assistant to work for DHL's largest partner in North America servicing the shipping needs of small to medium sized companies.  The Inside Sales Assistant will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term client relationships through the customization of such things as pricing, invoicing, and online automation.  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in utilizing sales skills in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

• Contacting customers to build and maintain ongoing relationships
• Increasing business with customers through the maintenance of long-term client relationships
• Identifying client needs and selling appropriate services to meet those needs
• Providing quotes and booking freight on the spot for clients as needed
• Performing all rate negotiation with clients
• Managing daily load activities by communication with customers, suppliers and vendors to ensure goods are picked up and delivered in a timely manner
• Accurately entering daily load details into a complex internal computer system
• Answering incoming sales calls to generate additional volume
• Providing excellent customer service to client base (i.e. problem resolution and tracking of loads)

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements: 

• 2-3 years experience working in an office environment
• BA or BS in related industry desired
• Sales experience in any industry a plus
• Proficiency in operating computers and applications
• Must be a committed team player with the ability to function both independently and as part of a team
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Function efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to complete multiple projects simultaneously
